Hold the phones!!! Google just took a radical step into the real estate arena by offering a property search tool right within their search engine results pages for real estate related searches!
Here is a screen shot:

This is huge! I’m extremely interested to see the kind of press that this generates over the next few days. I guess we’ll see if it’s just a test or not.
The listings of course are coming from Google Base, and are showing up with the slick Google maps interface. Time to get all of your listings on Google Base NOW!! Google is so powerful in the number of searches it pulls that this coud really level the playing field. Once agents and brokers catch on with how to get their properties listed, it could overpower and trump services like Trulia virtually overnight.
Stay Tuned…

Hey Jim,
That’s interesting… I do alot of localized searches and had never seen that before. I wonder if they were testing it out back in August of last year, and then pulled it down for a while. Have you seen it consistently since last year?
I’m just surprised that I hadn’t come across it until now. Thanks for the heads up!

Justin,
I have seen it intermittently since that first appearance in August. It seems to be very regular at this point.

Justin,
Just visited your site…it’s super.
You and I must have read this about the same time last week. It could really change the real estate industry.
